Kotobukiya is a well-known manufacturer of by-products, specializing mainly in figures and building kits. The Kotobukiya store in Akihabara covers several floors. One layer is exceptionally dedicated to figures licensed by Western publishers (e.g. Marvel & Star Wars), although unfortunately that layer is currently closed.
Kotobukiya has profiled itself as a manufacturer of high-quality accessories and figures, which also has its own brands in addition to other licensed ones, probably the best-known Frame Arms building kits. The fourth floor of the store used to feature very spectacular Star Wars and Marvel-themed figures, in March 2018 that floor was closed and a new showroom was apparently under construction. The top floor is reserved for various events.
